ADVENTURES WITH FURPERSON

Set for adventure in the rainforest.

Mashpi Reserve is located deep in the Mindo cloud forest, about 3 hours drive north of Quito. Using Mashpi Lodge as our base, my humans and I are determined to photograph every single species of bird, mammal and insect residing here… but not the arachnids, because my female human makes unappealing high-pitched noises when she sees them.

Here are some butterflies:

The extremely accurately named owl-eyed butterfly.
This chap was super friendly.

Here are some toucans:

The crimson rumped toucanet.
One of the 200 photos my male human took of the choco toucan.

Here are some birds that aren’t toucans:

Moss-backed tanager.
Golden naped tanager.
Glistening green tanager.

Here are some hummingbirds:

Green crowned woodnymph.
Velvet purple coronet, with a purple throated woodstar inbound.
The empress brilliant, almost as brilliant as my good self.

Stay tuned Furperson fans, there will be more birds (and some mammals!) in my next post.
